Parker and I had to get up early on Friday. We then had breakfast, finished packing and drove for four hours. I read a lot in the car.
We got ice cream halfway through the car ride, so it was all good.
I also got a nice scenic picture from the car:
Tadaaaaa!
We eventually arrived and set up camp.
I arranged a nice flower display. The picture is a bit fuzzy, but you can still see it.
After we finished setting up, we went for a hike to the top of a small mountain. This picture was taken a little ways above the tree line.
Eventually, we got to the top of the mountain. You can see my boots in the picture as proof that I really was there. Climbing the mountain wasn't easy, but it was worth it.
There were a lot of small stone towers at the top of the mountain, and I decided to make one myself. I also got everyone to gather together for a picture with my rock man. It rocked.
Then we started going back down the mountain. Parker was a quick mountain goat on the way up, but I was fast on the way down. I paused for a moment to take this picture.
Finally, we got back to our camp. I took a nice picture of one of the mountains that we would be climbing the next day. It certainly looked a lot larger than the one I had climbed!
Some people slept in the tents, some slept in the cars, and some slept in the lodges. I slept in a lodge, and I got plenty of sleep. I'm very glad that I did.
I love rock man! Do we get to read about Mountain No. 2???
